• Contract inputs that you enter into the builder (for example, client and contractor names, project descriptions, scope of work, jurisdiction choices, and commercial terms).
• Support communications, including messages you send to support@watertightcontracts.com.

1.2 Automatically collected information

When you use the platform, certain information is collected automatically, including:

• Device and browser type.
• IP address and general location (city/region level, where available).
• Pages, screens, and features you interact with.
• Time spent on pages and navigation flow.
• Referring URLs and basic technical diagnostics.

This information may be collected through services such as Google Analytics (GA4), Google Tag Manager, Vercel logs, and Supabase logs.

1.3 Authentication & magic-link access

We may use passwordless, magic-link style access for the platform. When you request a magic link, we may collect and log:

• Your email address.
• The timestamp the link was requested and sent.
• Confirmation that a link was opened or used.
• Basic events related to document generation and downloads associated with that email address.

1.4 Payment information

Payments are processed securely by our third-party payment provider Stripe. Stripe collects and processes:

• Name and email address.
• Billing information and card details.
• Transaction amount, currency, and purchase metadata.

We do not store or have access to full credit card numbers or CVV codes. We may receive limited payment information from Stripe (such as the last four digits of your card, card type, and transaction status) for record-keeping and support purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

2.1 To provide and maintain the service

We use your information to:

• Operate the contract builder and clause engine.
• Generate previews and final documents (such as PDF and DOCX files).
• Deliver download links and transactional emails.
• Process payments and manage billing.
• Provide customer support and respond to enquiries.

2.2 To operate and improve the platform

We use analytics and technical logs to:

• Understand how users interact with the platform.
• Monitor performance and reliability.
• Identify bugs, errors, and areas for improvement.
• Improve clause logic, user flows, and the overall experience of WaterTight Contracts.

2.3 To send transactional communications

We use email services such as Resend to send transactional emails, including:

• Magic-link access emails (where used).
• Receipt and payment confirmation emails.
• Document download links.
• Responses to support requests.

We do not send marketing or promotional emails without an appropriate legal basis (such as your consent, where required).

2.4 No sale of personal information

We do not sell personal information. We use service providers to help us operate the platform, and they process data on our behalf under appropriate agreements.

We use trusted service providers to help deliver the platform, including:

• Stripe for payment processing.
• Vercel for hosting and infrastructure.

These providers are authorised to process personal information only as necessary to provide their services to us and are subject to contractual and security obligations.

We use commercially reasonable safeguards to protect personal information, including encrypted HTTPS connections, secure hosting, and access controls. However, no online service can be completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. In general:

• Contract inputs are retained only as needed to generate and deliver your documents and maintain basic audit trails.
• Payment-related records are retained in accordance with Stripe's obligations and applicable financial regulations.
• Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics settings and operational needs.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete certain personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing activities.
